Following the groundwater level measurements, each of the wells was purged and sampled The <br /> wells were purged using a decontaminated bailer until at least three well casing volumes were <br /> extracted and/or after groundwater temperature, pH and electrical conductivity values had <br /> stabilized Following well purging and recharge, groundwater was sampled from the wells using <br /> dedicated disposable bailers and laboratory-supplied containers Each sample was labeled, <br /> packaged in an iced cooler and transported with chain-of-custody documentation to Kiff for <br /> analysis Kiff analyzed each of the groundwater samples for TPH-as-gasoline, BTEX, MTBE, <br /> DIPE, ETRE, TAME, TBA, and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260B <br /> ' Waste soil generated during the drilling operations was stockpiled on plastic sheeting pending <br /> profiling and proper disposition Waste liquid from equipment decontamination and well purging <br /> was contained in 55-gallon drums The drums were labeled and are currently stored on-site <br /> pending wastewater accumulation and eventual profiling and proper disposal <br /> 24 Domestic Water Well Sampling and Analysis <br /> To further identify domestic water wells in the site vicinity, and to determine if any domestic wells <br /> had been impacted by gasoline hydrocarbons, Ramage Environmental completed an expanded <br /> water well survey and collected water samples from 12 domestic water supply wells <br /> On November 9 and 10, 2000, Ramage Environmental conducted a door-to-door water well <br /> survey Along Raylow Avenue and Mylnar Avenue, information was obtained directly from the <br /> residents Ramage Environmental also conducted a walking tour of the entire site vicinity to <br /> search for additional water wells A one-page written notice was delivered to each property within <br /> ' 1,500 feet of the site, asking for any information on water wells that may be located at these <br /> parcels Approximately 300 notices were delivered <br /> By interviewing residents, Ramage Environmental identified a total of 56 domestic water wells <br /> along Raylow Avenue and Mylnar Avenue, between East Yosemite Avenue to the south and North <br /> ' Street to the north A water well exists on every parcel within this area, except for the residence at <br /> 150 Mylnar Avenue Of the 56 parcels with water wells, only 12 are also connected to city water <br /> service In general, the residents were not aware of the construction of their wells A copy of <br /> Ramage Environmental's Water Well Survey Addendum dated November 16, 2000 is included as <br /> Appendix E This document, previously submitted to PHS/EHD includes a map showing the <br /> locations of identified wells, a table listing the addresses of the identified wells, and any available <br /> water well drillers reports <br /> • 11 <br />
