Work Objectives/Scope: Conduct soil and groundwater investigation related to a former <br /> ' underground storage tanks (UST) For this investigation, soil and groundwater grab samples will <br /> be collected from eleven (11) soil borings using a Geoprobe 5400 Direct Penetration Technology <br /> (DPT) rig <br /> Activities PlannedCheck those that areapplicable) <br /> { <br /> ' Underground storage tank removal <br /> ' oversight of soil excavation with backhoe or other equipment <br /> Confirmation soil sampling during soil excavation and removal <br /> ' soil gas survey <br /> X soil boring and soil and groundwater grab sampling <br /> drilling of wells, including installation, development and sampling of groundwater <br /> and soil <br /> ' Groundwater sampling of onsite wells <br /> other <br /> I1. SITE INFORMATION <br /> ' Site Description: The site is located at 1001 East Yosemite Avenue in the city of Manteca <br /> (San Joaquin County), California The site is a service station currently under construction to <br /> ' upgrade the fueling system and underground tanks <br /> Unusual Features: Possible underground utility lines Underground Service Alert (USA) will <br /> be called at least 48 hours prior to site work Geoprobe operator will be asked to hand auger <br /> and/or probe to five feet below ground surface (bgs) if drilling near any underground utility lines <br /> Site Background/History: During January 1999, three USTs, two dispenser islands, and the <br /> canopy structure and supports were removed Soil samples collected from beneath the USTs and <br /> dispensers indicated that soil in the vicinity of the dispensers was impacted Dy aged gasoline On <br /> April 1, 1999, approximately 200 cubic yards of impacted soil was excavated from the dispenser <br /> area Soil samples indicated that the extent of impacted soil was not completely removed <br /> 2 <br />
