CAC SECTION OBSERVATIONS RESULT
DISPOSAL SITE SPECIAL WASTES.
17741 Burning wastes. I did not observe burning wastesC
received at this site. According. to
John Giambastiani, Site Supervisor, if
a load of burning waste were received
it would be placed next to the working
face where cover soil is readily
available.
17742 Hazardous I did not observe hazardous waste C
Wastes . accepted at this site. Every load
that comes in is checked by the
gatekeeper; if it were detected at - the
active face it would be isolated,
tested, taken away, and all
appropriate authorities notified.
Approximately 50-60 yd3 of infectious
waste is received per month. It is
set to the side of the active face and
covered immediately, with care being
taken not to run directly over it with
equipment. The methods of handling
hazardous wastes were relayed to me by
John Giambastini, Site Supervisor.
17743 Liquid Wastes. Liquid waste is received at the site V
in the form of grease from restaurant
grease traps. I observed a 350 x 12
foot pond of waste located at the toe
of a slope that was to the south of
the winter pad. I measured its area
with a rangefinder. It was
approximately one foot deep. Waste
Discharge Requirements specify liquid
waste is to be mixed with dry refuse
for proper disposal .
17744 Dead Animals. I did not observe dead animals atthisC
site.
DISPOSAL SITE REPORTS AND REVIEWS.
17751 Periodic Site This site received a new permit on C
Review. 2/01/83. It will be due for review on
2/01/88.
Page No. 13 of 14 Inspector
