Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br />Date: <br />April 02, 2019 <br /> Facility Address: <br /> 505 W Harding Way, Stockton <br /> Facility Name: <br /> Family Dollar Store #11298 <br />San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department <br />1868 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton, California 95205-6232 <br />Telephone: (209) 468-3420 Fax: (209) 468-3433 Web: www.sjgov.org/ehd <br />SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br />(CLASS I, CLASS II, or MINOR - Notice to Comply) <br />RemarksItem # <br />as indicated on a Family Dollar Hazardous Waste (HW) Labels guidance document found in the Family Dollar HW <br />Training Guide Binder (IMG 5233): <br />- A Toxics & OTC Pharmaceuticals (TX OTC) HW tote with accumulation start date 1/24/2019, which contained <br />various types of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals (IMG 5183-4). <br />- A Corrosive Base (CB) HW tote with accumulation start date 1/24, which contained the following (IMG 5185): <br /> - A partially empty bottle of Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner & Deodorizer (IMG 5186). When asked what happened <br />to the missing amount of Pine-Sol that was in the bottle, Eric Farley, store manager, stated the Pine-Sol may have <br />spilled and was cleaned up. When asked how chemical spills are cleaned up, Eric stated usually for spilled chemical <br />cleaning liquids, water is applied to the spill which is then mopped up. Eric also stated that paper towels or <br />absorbent may have been used to clean up the Pine-Sol spill, in which case the used paper towels or absorbent <br />may have been placed in the trash, since they were not in the HW tote. According to the Family Dollar HW Training <br />Guide Binder no hazardous waste should be placed in the trash or down the drain (IMG 5236), Spill Magic <br />(absorbent) should be applied to the spill, and then placed in a bag and in the appropriate StrongPak (hazardous <br />waste) tote, along with spilled item (IMG 5238). <br /> - A bottle of Nyco All Purpose Degreaser (IMG 5187-8) <br /> - A container of LA's Totally Awesome Rain Fresh Laundry Detergent, which the hand-held scanner indicated <br />should be placed in the Stated Regulated (ST) HW tote. Eric placed the laundry detergent in the ST HW tote. (IMG <br />5189-90) <br /> - A container of Suavitel fabric softener, which the hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the Toxic (TX) <br />HW tote. Eric placed the fabric softener in the TX OTC HW tote. (IMG 5191-2). <br /> - A container of Sun Triple Clean laundry detergent, which the hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the <br />TX HW tote. Eric placed the laundry detergent in the TX OTC HW tote. (IMG 5193-4) <br /> - A partially empty container of Ajax Bleach Alternative dish soap. Eric did not know what happened to the missing <br />dish soap that was once in the container, nor to the possible spill clean-up waste. (IMG 5195, 5198) <br /> - A partially empty container of Ultra Gain dishwashing liquid, which the handheld scanner indicated should be <br />placed in the TX HW tote. Eric placed the dishwashing liquid in the TX OTC HW tote. Eric did not know what <br />happened to the missing dish soap that was once in the container, nor to the possible spill clean-up waste. (IMG <br />5196-7) <br /> - A bottle of Mostenbocker's Lift Off Spray Paint and Graffiti Remover, which was labeled as flammable. Eric <br />placed the graffiti remover into the Aerosols, Flammables, & Combustibles (AF) HW tote. (IMG 5199-200) <br />- An AF HW tote with accumulation start date 1/24/2019, which contained the following (IMG 5201): <br /> - An empty container of Daxton After Shave splash, which had leaked out of the container and bag and into the <br />HW tote. According to the Family Dollar HW Training Guide Binder, leaking container should be double-bagged and <br />absorbent should be applied to the leaking item. (IMG 5202-3, 5237) <br /> - Four aerosol cans of Airwick 4-in-1 air freshener (IMG 5203). <br />- A ST HW tote with accumulation start date 1/24/2019, which contained the following (IMG 5204): <br /> - A partially empty bottle of Ultra Ajax Bleach Alternative dish soap, which the hand-held scanner indicated should <br />be placed in the Oxidizers (OX) HW tote. Eric placed the dish soap into the OX HW tote. Eric did not know what <br />happened to the missing dish soap that was once in the container, nor to the possible spill clean-up waste. (IMG <br />5205-6) <br /> - A partially empty bottle of LA's Totally Awesome Ultra Deluxe liquid dish detergent, which the hand-held scanner <br />indicated should be placed in the TX HW tote. Eric placed the dish detergent into the TX OTC HW tote. Eric did not <br />know what happened to the missing dish detergent that was once in the container, nor to the possible spill clean-up <br />waste.
