(IMG 5207-8)
- A container of Persil ProClean laundry detergent, which the hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the
TX HW tote. Eric placed the detergent into the TX HW tote. (IMG 5209-10)
- A bag of Snuggle Scent Booster laundry pacs, which the hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the TX
HW tote. Eric placed the laundry pacs into the TX HW tote. (IMG 5211-12)
- A bag of Ariel powder laundry detergent, which the hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the TX HW
tote. Eric placed the detergent into the TX HW tote. (IMG 5213-4)

A CB HW tote lacking an accumulation start date, which contained a bottle of Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner &
Deodorizer (IMG 5215-6).
A tote with a ripped and mostly illegible Universal & Electronic Waste (UW) label contained a cardboard box
containing five intact bottles and one broken bottle of Family Wellness Magnesium Citrate Oral Solution, which the
hand-held scanner indicated should be placed in the TX HW tote. The broken bottle had leaked the solution out
onto the other bottles and the cardboard box. Eric placed the six bottles into a bag, placed the contaminated
cardboard box into another bag, and placed both bags into the TX OTC HW tote. (IMG 5217-20)
An aerosol can missing the actuator was found on a shelf in the hazardous waste storage area. Eric stated the
aerosol can should have been placed in the AF HW tote. Eric scanned, bagged, and placed the aerosol can into the
AF HW tote (IMG 5221).
The following items were found unlabeled adjacent the HW storage area and Eric confirmed that these items were
Universal Waste items:
- A Sound Logic Wireless Bluetooth Tower Speaker (IMG 5225).
- An Emerson speaker box sitting on top of the Sound Logic Tower Speaker (IMG 5225).
- A Sound Logic Bluetooth Mini Tower (IMG 5226).
All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information:
- the words “Hazardous Waste”
- name and address of generator
- hazardous properties
- physical state
- composition (contents)
- accumulation start date
Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required
information.
This is a Class II violation.
Overall Inspection Comments:
Notes:
- At the time of inspection, the most recent Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area Inspection form found in the
Family Dollar Hazardous Waste Training Guide binder was completed on 7/16/18 (IMG 5234).
