. 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Mrs MMone Conrady is the owner of the property located at 1002 Yosemite Street in <br /> Stockton, California The property is the former location of a gasoline service station that <br /> was demolished about 1980, when the underground fuel storage tanks were removed <br /> Investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater beneath the site have <br /> been supervised by Mr Michael Infiinia of the Environmental Health Division of San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (PHS/EHD) since 1993 Neumiller & Beardslee, <br /> Attorneys-at-Law,have managed the project for Mrs Conrady since its inception <br /> Assessment of the site was completed in 1995 and approved by PHS/EHD in 1996 <br /> PHS/EHD then requested Mrs Conrady to remediate the site, and a Corrective Action Plan <br /> was approved and implemented in 1998 The remedial work was completed at the end of <br /> 1998 In January 1999, on behalf of Mrs Conrady, Neumiller & Beardslee retained <br /> Upgradient Environmental Consultants to prepare this Closure Report (No Further Action <br /> Required Report) for the site Full and complete rernediation of the site has not been <br /> possible,therefore,closure with residual contamination in place is requested <br /> This report has been prepared in accordance with Appendix B of the Tri-Regional Board <br /> Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank <br /> Sites The first part of the report summarizes the history of the project The bulk of the <br /> report deals with the site characterization and the results of the remedial work Appendix A <br /> contains the Checklist of Required Data For No Further Action Requests at Underground <br /> Tank Sites <br /> 2.0 HISTORY OF SITE INVESTIGATION <br /> 2.1 Tank Removal <br /> The property is located on the northeast corner of Acacia and Yosemite streets in a <br /> predominantly residential area of west Stockton (Figure 1) The site is now vacant, but was <br /> operated as a gasoline service station from 1961 to 1978 by Mr Jules Conrady In 1980,the <br /> station was closed and the fuel storage tanks and dispenser islands were removed These <br /> included a 4,000-gallon regular gasoline tank, a 3,000-gallon ethyl gasoline tank, and a <br /> 3,000-gallon supreme gasoline tank No information on the condition of the tanks at the <br /> time of their removal is available,nor were any soil samples collected at that time <br /> 2.2 Site Assessment <br /> 2.2.1 Soil Vapor Survey <br /> Site assessment activities at the site are summarized in Figure 2 The first step in the <br /> investigation was a soil vapor survey conducted by Evax Technologies in 1990 Fifteen <br /> vapor probes were advanced to depths of 10, 14, and 19 feet below surface grade, and 33 <br /> vapor samples were collected (Figure 3) Each sample was analyzed by FID in an on-site <br /> 1 <br />
