O U P ] N C <br /> Eet,t ental Sen efts <br /> 5.0 WELL SEARCH <br /> In a letter dated August 21, 1996, the PHS/EHD stated that a sensitive receptor <br /> survey must be conducted in the vicinity of the Conrady property in order to "satisfy <br /> the investigative phase and closure requirements" and to qualify the site for "low- <br /> risk" designation The initial stage of the sensitive receptor survey consisted of a <br /> search of the DWR files in order to locate wells within 2000 feet of the site In <br /> addition, the current sources of Stockton's public water supply were identified <br /> 5.1 Department of Water Resources <br /> On September 24, 1996 Clearwater requested permission from the PHS/EHD to <br /> conduct a search of the DWR files On September 30, 1996, Mr Michael Infurna of <br /> the PHS/EHD approved the Well Driller's Reports Inspection Request and <br /> Agreement (Appendix C) <br /> After receiving pre-approval of the costs from the client and the Underground <br /> Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (USTCF), Clearwater conducted a search of the files at <br /> the DWR office in Sacramento on December 20, 1996 The search was limited to files <br /> covering portions of Sections 3, 4, and 10 in Township I North, Range 6 East, the <br /> area that would include a 2000-foot radius of the site Data from eight well files <br /> indicated that the wells were within Sections 3, 4, and 10 (area of interest) Table 2 <br /> and Figure 5 present the well data and show the approximate well locations <br /> One of the eight wells is located in Victory Park, possibly within 2000 feet of the <br /> Conrady property On December 30, 1996, Clearwater contacted Mr Scott Esszn, <br /> Superintendent of the Stockton City Parks and Recreation Department According <br /> to Mr Essun, the well located in Victory Park is used to supply irrigation water only <br /> The well has never been used as a source of drinking water, public drinking water is <br /> supplied to Victory Park by the City of Stockton <br /> DWR records indicate that five wells are located within the area of interest but <br /> outside a 2000-foot radius of the site Two of the wells are abandoned, one is used <br /> for domestic water, and one is used for irrigation No information was given <br /> regarding the use of the fifth well (it was installed in 1909) <br /> DWR files indicate that two additional wells were located In the area of interest, but <br /> the well addresses shown in the records are not within the area of interest One well <br /> was reportedly located in front of Franklin High School, however, Franklin High <br /> School is located at 300 North Gertrude Street (outside the area of interest) <br /> Information contained in the DWR files also indicate that a hole 68 feet deep, used <br /> D-101 4Q96 4 January 2, 1997 <br />
