1 <br /> CLEARWATER <br /> G R O U P, i N c <br /> ' To further evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon distribution in groundwater, <br /> Clearwater installed monitoring wells MW-4 and MW-5 on August 31, 1994. <br /> ' Monitoring well MW-5 was installed approximately 50 feet downgradient of MW-2- <br /> At the request of the PHS, MW-4 was installed as an additional data point to <br /> evaluate possible fluctuations in the groundwater flow direction Water level and <br /> ' surveying data compiled since the fall of 1994 indicate a fairly consistent <br /> northwesterly groundwater flow direction <br /> 1.2 Objectives of This Investigation <br /> ' All work was performed in accordance with Clearwater's Workplan (dated April 29, <br /> 1995) and the Revised Workplan for the Conrady Property (dated July 7, 1995), with <br /> exception of the deviations noted below The Revised Workplan was written to <br /> comply with the requests made by Mr Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin County <br /> PHS in letters dated May 4 and June 14, 1995 <br /> The objectives of this investigation were to: <br /> • Further investigate the vertical extent of soil contamination in the shallow <br /> ' saturated zone, the PHS specified that in order to meet this requirement, <br /> Clearwater must obtain at least two vertically consecutive soil samples <br /> coritainmg nondetectable concentrations of hydrocarbons <br /> • ' Assess the downgradient extent of dissolved hydrocarbons in groundwater by <br /> installing an offsite downgradient monitoring well and conducting quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring <br /> Install and test two SVE wells and two air sparge wells onsite to evaluate;Ethe <br /> ' feasibility of using SVE and air sparging to remediate the site <br /> ' Deviati ns from the Workplan <br /> With the approval of Mr Michael Infurna of the PHS, the following deviations <br /> were made from the Revised Workplan for the Conrady Property I E I <br /> I •I i, Well screen installed has 0'020-mslots instead of,0'010-inch-wide slots I € <br /> I!
