QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> March 1994 <br /> Conrady Service Station <br /> 1002 Yosemite Street <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> 1 <br /> ' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In a letter dated January 28, 1994, from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD), the property owner, Mrs Marjorie Conrady, <br /> was directed to perform monthly monitoring and quarterly sampling of groundwater at 1002 <br /> Yosemite Avenue in Stockton, California (the site) GeoAudit was retained by Mrs Conrady <br /> to comply with the PHS/EHD directive This report describes the procedures and presents <br /> the results of the monthly and quarterly acitivities at the site <br /> ' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 Site History <br /> The site is a former gasoline service station located at the intersection of Yosemite Street <br /> and Acacia Street in a relatively flat commercial`and residential area of Stockton (Figure <br /> 1} It is our understanding that Mr Jules Conrady operated the station from 1961 until 1978, <br /> and that the underground fuel storage tanks were removed from the site Iin 1980 The tanks <br /> ' consisted,of a 4,000 gallon'regular gasoline tank, a 3,000 gallon ethyl gasoline tank, and a I <br /> 3,000 gallon supreme tank It is our understanding that no information is available on the <br /> condition of the tanks at the time of their removal, and no soil samples were collected from <br /> rthe tank excavation <br /> 2.2 Initial Investigation <br /> Evax Technologies conducted a soil-gas survey in 1990 to determine whether petroleum <br /> vapors were present in the soil Subsequently, GeoAudrt performed a site assessment of the <br /> property in October 1992 The results of the soil-gas survey and the site assessment were <br /> presented in GeoAudit's Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report, dated January <br /> I' 121, 1993 In the assessment, 0 0082 parts per million (ppm) toluene and 0 006 ppm xylene <br /> were detected at a depth of 30 feet, 'and 0 021 ppm toluene was detected at a depth of 35 <br /> feet in�one of six soil bonngs Based on these results, the San,Joaquin County Public Health + <br /> Services-EnvyronmentaI Health Division (PHS/EHD)required a groundwater investigation i <br /> III II` I �, <br /> I E I <br /> I <br /> 1 O p6ppIAddS.F I.a <br /> C—dy Se rvwe 34oa.OR25941166 <br /> I <br /> II <br /> Illf 'll!E ' I 161 III E I I I+i e l 1 1 ` I I I t I I I I `III'Ipll'I I <br /> I � <br />
