INTRODUCTION
Harken Marketing Company (HMC) has prepared this work plan to described the
task proposed to evaluate soil end ground water hydrocarbon contamination at HMC
Location#100878, 1012 West Yosemtie Avenue,Manteca,San Joaquin County,California.
BACKGROUND
"he site is located in San Joaquin County, Section 5, Township 2 South, Range 7
East, California. The site Iocation is depicted on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1). The
site contained three 10,000 gallon steel underground storage tanks installed in 1970. On
July 13, 1989 the tank containing regular leaded gasoline failed a tank test. The station
closed in August, therefore, no further tank testing was performed. The tanks and lines
were removed in December 1989.
LOCAL HYDROGEOLOGY
The site area is underlain by alluvial fan deposits of the Great Valley and are of
Recent age. These sediments consist of unconsolidated clay, silt, and sand. The
topographic surface is nearly flat with a slight westward slope. The San Joaquin River is
located approximately 4 miles southwest of the site. Based on regional maps prepared from
1988 ground water data by San Joaquin Coun; Flood Control and Water Conservation
District,we expect the depth to ground water in the vicinity of the site to be approximately
2
