Screening will be performed by positioning the
I
OVM probe approximately 1-inch from the fresh surface of each sediment tube recovered
during sampling. The OVM reading will be obtained promptly after removal of the samples
from the sampler. Soil samples selected for chemical analysis will include the samples
taken from just above the ground water surface and the samples collected from each boring
with the highest OVM reading.
Samples collected for Chemical analyses will be promptly sealed with aluminum foil,
plastic caps, and tape. They will then be labeled and promptly placed in iced storage for
transport to the analytical laboratory for testing. Chain-of-Custody Records will be initiated
by the sampler and will accompany the samples to the laboratory. Copies of these records
f
will be presented in the final Report.
rilling will be left at the site. This soil will be
All drill cuttings generated during d
segregated into two stockpiles, based on OVM readings. One stockpile will contain soil
with positive OVM readings and the other with soil producing no OVM readings. Sail
cuttings will be placed on, and covered with, plastic sheeting and secured from weather.
i
6
Ili
