LABORATORY ANALYSES
Selected soil and water samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons
(TPH) as gasoline by the modified EPA Method 8015. The samples will be analyzed for
the volatile hydrocarbon constituents benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene
I
isomers (BTEX) by EPA Methods 8020 (soil) and 602 (water) Laboratory detection limits
will be stated on the laboratory report This analytical work will be conducted by a
laboratory certified by the State of California. Additionally, the soil sample showing the
highest subjective evidence of contamination in the soil boring drilled adjacent to the former
tank cavity will be analyzed for organic lead by the method recommended by the
Department of Health Services.
GROUND WATER FLOW
The ground water gradient and direction of flow within the uppermost water bearing
unit will be evaluated using depth to water measurements and surveyed well head elevations
of the monitoring wells Locations and elevations of the monitoring wells will be surveyed
, I
by a licensed land surveyor. Depth to water measurements will be made with an electronic
water-level indicator to the nearest 0.01 foot and obtained a minimum of 48 hours after well
development and before any pumping or bailing required on-site for purging or sampling.
f
` All wells will be vented to the atmosphere for a minimum of 1 hour before obtaining depth
Ii
I Y
E k f
f'
If I
I
