• <br /> WORK PLAN FOR A LlWrED <br /> SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> at <br /> Chevron Service Station #9-1848 <br /> 1257 Yosemite Avenue <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Report No. 6392 01-2 <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Chevron Products Company (Chevron), Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) has <br /> prepared this Work Plan for A Limited Subsurface Investigation at the subject site <br /> (Figure 1) The proposed scope of work includes obtaining the necessary soil boring <br /> permits from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), preparing a site <br /> safety plan, advancing four soil borings using a GeoProbe® or similar direct-push <br /> technology, collecting soil and grab groundwater samples from the borings; submitting the <br /> soil and groundwater samples for chemical analysis; and preparing a report which presents <br /> the findings of the investigation. <br /> This Work Plan supersedes GR Report No 6392 01-1, Work Plan For A Limited <br /> Subsurface Investigation And Well Destruction, dated June 13, 1997 The scope of work <br /> described in this Work Plan is intended to comply with the State of California Water <br /> Resources Control Board's Leaking Underground Fuel Tanks (LUFT) Manual and <br /> California Underground Storage Tank Regulations, 1994, the California Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for <br /> Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, and SJCPHS <br /> guidelines <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is an active service station located north of State Route 120 (Yosemite Avenue) <br /> in Manteca, California The current facilities consist of a station building, two dispenser <br /> islands, and three underground storage tanks (USTs) that share a common pit near the <br /> . northeast boundary of the subject site. The topography in the vicinity is flat lying at an <br /> 639201-2 <br />
