The purpose of <br /> excavating is to remove soil containing hydrocarbons. The existing gasoline tank cavity will <br /> be excavated after the removal of three underground-storage tanks. The proposed tank <br /> cavity will be excavated to install new underground storage tanks. Soil samples collected <br /> ® from soil borings drilled in August 1990 did not contain hydrocarbons at levels that warrant <br /> remediation: however, this work plan is being submitted as a contingency plan in the event <br /> that during the excavation hydrocarbons are detected at levels that warrant remediation. <br /> F <br />
