Applied GeoSystems'standard methods for field work <br /> are described in Appendix A. <br /> -, <br /> Applied GeoSystems was at the site on August 15 and 16, 1990, to observe W-.yne Drilling <br /> of Lincoln. California, drill seven 8-inch diameter soil borings (B-1 through B-7). The <br /> locations of the soil borings are shown on Plate P-2. <br /> The locations of the borings were selected using ARCO's Preliminary Tank Replacement <br /> " -1 was drilled approximately 2-1/2 feet from the edge of <br /> Assessment guidelines. Boring B <br /> the tank area near the fill ends of the three product tanks; borings B-2, B-3, and B-4 were <br /> drilled near tanks T-2 and T-3: boring B-5 was drilled on the south end of tank T-1; and <br /> borings B-6 and B-7 were drilled in the area proposed as the new tank cavity (Plate P-2). <br /> Soil samples were collected during drilling at approximately 5-foot intervals and were <br /> classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System (Plate P-3).
