Emcon <br /> 1433 North Market Boulevard •Sacramento California 95834-1943 • (916)928-3300• Fax(916)928-3341 <br /> September 13, 1995 <br /> Project 0805-15101 <br /> Kyle Christie <br /> ARCO Products Company <br /> 2155 South Bascom, Suite 202 <br /> Campbell,California 95008 <br /> Re 1995 Annual Status Report for ARCO Service Station No 6020, Located at <br /> 1711 East Yosemite, Manteca, California <br /> Dear Mr Christie <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), EMCON is conducting an <br /> environmental investigation at the subject site (see Figure 1), We have prepared this status <br /> report on the work conducted during 1995 Work included groundwater monitoring which <br /> consists of measuring depths to groundwater, collecting groundwater samples from the <br /> wells for subjective and laboratory analyses, and evaluating the groundwater gradient and <br /> direction of groundwater flow beneath the site Annual groundwater sampling is being <br /> conducted at the site as per a letter from San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> dated December 27, 1993, stating that groundwater sampling of the four existing <br /> morutonng wells shall be conducted once a year with semi-annual monitoring <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> According to information supplied by ARCO, there are two 12,000-gallon gasoline <br /> storage tanks and one 10,000-gallon gasoline storage tank at the site In August 1990, <br /> RESNA Industries Inc , (RESNA) of Rancho Cordova, California, drilled seven soil <br /> bonngs around the underground storage tanks and the proposed tank cavity to evaluate <br /> soil for hydrocarbons In November 1992, EMCON observed the drilling of six soil <br /> borings and construction of four groundwater monitoring wells The approximate <br /> locations of the monitonng wells and other facilities are shown on Figure 2. Groundwater <br /> samples collected from the monitoring wells indicated dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons <br /> were not detected at laboratory detection limits (RESNA, Preliminary Investigation <br /> Evaluation Report No 30055-6, April 17, 1993) <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> Groundwater Technology, Inc , (GTI) and EMCON were contracted by ARCO to <br /> monitor the groundwater in the monitoring wells previously installed at the site.
