RESNA is also measuring depths to
water and conducting subjective analyses of groundwater approximately one each month
between quarterly groundwater monitoring events for six months (last event performed June
15, 1993) RESNA used these data to evaluate the direction and gradient of groundwater
flow beneath the site The locations of the monitoring wells are shown on Plate 2
BACKGROUND
According to information supplied by ARCO, there are two 12,000-gallon gasoline-storage
tanks and one 10,000-gallon gasoline-storage tank at the site In August 1990, RESNA
drilled seven soil borings around the underground storage tanks and the proposed tank
cavity to evaluate soil for hydrocarbons (Applied GeoSystems, October 3 1990) RESNA
was onsite November 18 through 21, 1992, to observe drilling of six soil borings and
construction of four groundwater monitoring wells The approximate locations of the
monitoring wells and other facilities are shown on Plate 2 Water samples were collected
from the wells on December 16, 1992; results of laboratory analyses indicated dissolved
gasoline hydrocarbons were not detected in the samples (RESNA Industries, Preliminary
Investigation Evaluation Report No 30055-6, April 17, 1993)
i
0513kchr
30055-6
1
