SECOR <br /> IInternational Incorporated <br /> I <br /> April 12, 2001 <br /> IProject 077 42070 330 <br /> Mr Mike Infurna <br /> I San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br />' Re Site Assessment Report <br /> ARCO Station#6020 l <br /> 1711 E Yosemite Avenue <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> This report, prepared by SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of <br /> Atlantic Richfield Company(ARCO), documents the installation of six groundwater <br /> monitoring wells (MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, MW-S, MW-9, MW-10), at the site referenced <br /> above (Figure 1) The purpose of the investigation was to define the lateral and vertical <br /> I� extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater beneath the site The <br /> investigation was performed as described in SECOR's Work Plan for Additional Site <br /> Assessment, dated October 17, 2000 and Addendum to the Work Plan, dated September <br /> I 21, 2000 and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> (SJCEHD) in their letter, dated October 16, 2000 (Attachment A) <br /> SITE BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> Site Description <br /> IThe site is an operating ARCO service station located in a commercial district on the <br /> north side of Yosemite Avenue east of Highway 99 in Manteca, California Topography <br />' in the area is generally level with the surrounding areas <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> ARCO previously installed four groundwater monitoring wells to investigate a previous <br /> release of petroleum hydrocarbons at the site Based upon four years of groundwater <br /> monitoring data indicating low to nondetectable levels of petroleum hydrocarbons in <br /> Igroundwater, ARCO requested site closure In 1996, ARCO was granted closure from <br /> the SJCEHD and the four groundwater monitoring wells were subsequently destroyed <br /> Groundwater data prior to 1996 indicated that the groundwater gradient direction <br /> beneath the site ranged from north to northeast <br /> �} Excavation and removal of three gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) and <br /> Iassociated product lines and dispensers were performed on April 21, 1999 These tanks <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road, Susle 100, Rancho Cordova, U 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Pati www secor cam <br />
