Based on the nature of the products we sell, there are quite a few departments whose <br />Products (when waste) are highly likely to be part of Petco's hazardous waste program. <br />DOG PEST <br />CAT PEST <br />DOG SUPPLEMENT/REMEDY <br />CAT SUPPLEMENT/REMEDY <br />DOG CLEAN UP <br />CAT CLEAN UP <br />DOG GROOMING SUPPLIES <br />AQUATICS — all water chemicals, fluorescent lights <br />REPTILES — fluorescent lights (warming lamps, etc) <br />STORE USE & GROOMING CHEMICALS (not empty bottles) <br />ALL LIQUIDS, AEROSOLS, FLUORESCENT BULBS, BATTERIES, AND ELECTRONICS (PLUG) <br />Note that this is NOT a full list of departments or products that may be hazardous waste <br />• Compliance with HW requirements is critical for our <br />partner's safety and Petco's success s n <br />• There are numerous HW requirements that must be <br />followed. Don't hesitate to ask questions of your <br />DM or the SSE group (safety@Petco.com) Ai <br />• Only Petco managers may deal with HW... While most stores tend to rely on <br />IPDM to manage the store's HW, ALL store managers must understand the <br />program and be ready to step in, if needed. <br />• Waste must properly segregated and stored. Placing waste in the wrong bin <br />could result in incompatible materials mixing... fire, chemical reactions, or o' <br />serious harm could occur <br />• Labeling and paperwork is very important... don't overlook it <br />EVERY SINGLE WASTE DECISION AND EVERY SINGLE WASTE Ar, TIC, I E <br />every flea collar, every toy with a battery, every vitamin/suppleme <br />bottle of shampoo, every bottle of carpet cleaner/deodorizer, <br />1 l� <br />• The manifest is the legal shipping <br />paperwork for hazardous waste <br />shipments <br />• ONLY people with specific DOT and EPA <br />training may sign this paperwork <br />• Our vendor (Stericycle) has this training <br />and the legal authority to sign Petco's <br />manifest <br />Our Petco partners may NEVER sign a <br />manifest <br />The PSC/Stericylce driver will leave the <br />top copy of the manifest with you. <br />Keep this in your binder. Do not discard <br />it. <br />Corp SSE will send you the bottom copy <br />of the manifest within 45 day (approx.). <br />Put this in your binder.
