The modified contingency <br />plan was missing the name and emergency telephone number of the emergency coordinator, and the telephone <br />number of the fire department. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business operator must post the following information next to telephones or in <br />areas directly involved in the generation and accumulation of hazardous waste: the name and emergency <br />telephone number of the emergency coordinator, the location of fire extinguishers and spill control material, and the <br />telephone number of the fire department unless the facility has a direct alarm. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately post the required information at the facility. Provide a statement to the San <br />Joaquin County Environmental Health Department that the correction is complete. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />106 <br />CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures. <br />OBSERVATION: At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented) that <br />employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained. According to Ronnie Holaday, hazardous waste <br />training is not given to employees. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper <br />waste handling and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and <br />emergencies. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately train the employees. Provide proof of training within 30 days to the San <br />Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) for employees whose responsibilities include hazardous <br />waste. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />505 <br />CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label stationary hazardous waste tanks. <br />OBSERVATION: The hazardous waste tank storing used oil had a hazardous waste label that was missing the <br />accumulation start date. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste tanks shall be marked with the words "Hazardous Waste" and the <br />accumulation start date. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Label the hazardous waste tanks with the words "Hazardous Waste" and the accumulation <br />start date.
