INTRODUCTION
The installation of Made To Drain troughs is straightforward and can be accomplished with normal construction materials and techniques.
The following assumes installation in a slab on grade condition, although the troughs can be installed in other conditions, as well.
DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF SYSTEM
Setting the Troughs
• The opening in the slab to receive the unit
must be 1" (25) larger, on each
side of the unit. The area can
then be back-filled with epoxy
grout to fill the void. This will
give better support to unit
edges and much better control
of final installed unit heights.
• The unit should be set to allow
the top of the unit to be level
with the top of the finished
floor. The turned down edge is
not a height guide for tile
installation.
• It is important that the module
itself be level even if the
surrounding floor is not. To be
safe, do not assume the
surrounding floor is level.
• When installing the units end to
end or side to side, alignment
pins are provided to ensure unit
to unit alignment. It is
recommended that the seams
be welded together in the field.
Silicone caulk between the
seams can be used as an
alternative.
• In the event that units are being
installed side by side rather than
end to end, it is particularly
important to be certain that all
edges of the units are
completely supported by the
final concrete.
