MTBE now recognized as <br /> problem and found at this site. <br /> • June 1998 UST system removed. Stained soil and gasoline odor noted. <br /> • May 1999 monitoring wells installed. Flow of first water to the northwest. <br /> • December 1999, 39 domestic, 3 irrigation and 15 unknown use wells were <br /> identified within 2000 feet of the site. <br /> • March 2000 monitoring wells installed across the street on the north side <br /> of Yosemite Avenue. These wells had MTBE in the water samples. <br /> • May 2000 California adopted maximum contaminant levels for MTBE <br /> (primary 13 ug/I, secondary 5 ug/1) <br /> • July - September 2000 water samples were collected from 38 domestic <br /> and 2 irrigation wells. Ten of the domestic and 1 irrigation well had <br /> MTBE. 1 ,2 DCA was found in two wells (the source of this chemical has <br /> not been confirmed). <br /> • August 2000 start of bottled water being provided to wells impacted by <br /> contamination. <br /> • September 18, 2000, delivery of bulk water tanks to homes with wells <br /> impacted by contamination. <br /> • September 29, 2000, groundwater extraction, treatment, and disposal to <br /> the City of Manteca sewer system was started as interim remediation. <br /> • January 2001 additional offsite assessment (CPT 17-26) and video and <br /> cement bond investigation of 5 domestic and 1 irrigation well. <br /> • May 2001 meeting at EHD attended by staff from City of Manteca, San <br /> Joaquin County, State of California and the responsible party <br /> representatives to discuss water source options for the homes with <br /> contaminated wells. <br /> • August 2001 ways to reduce costs and stretch the reimbursement funds <br /> from the Cleanup Fund were discussed. <br />
