On September 7, 2000, ASE
received a faxed copy of the letter from San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) approving the
workplan. See Appendix A for a copy of this undated letter.
As you are certainly aware, ASE typically provides our USTCF-
reimbursement clients with multiple alternatives and competitive bids for
each required task of the project. Although the San Joaquin County PHS-
EHD has required that an interim remediation system be installed at the
site by September 30, 2000 (see Appendix A for a copy of their undated
letter), ASE has conducted tests and explored several options that could
remedy the migration of the plume off-site. However, based particularly
on the data, and also on the limited time to meet the required schedule,
ASE has provided the following proposal as the preferred method o f
remediation at this time. ASE requested and received several bids from
subcontractors for the various tasks within this proposal. ASE's selection
of the subcontractors was based on cost-effectiveness and the ability of
meeting the schedule requirements.
Proposal #2000-154 and #2000-155 for a Remediation System, Frank's One Stop Property
- 1 -
208 W.
