Spill prevention measures for this oil-filled operational equipment complies with
the alternative requirements per 40 CFR 112 7 (k)(2).
8.1.10 Oil Reservoir for Trash Compacter
There is no dedicated secondary containment provided for the oil reservoir for the trash compacter.
Spill prevention measures for this oil-filled operational equipment complies with the alternative
requirements per 40 CFR 112.7 (k)(2).
GHD has calculated the required containment volumes based on 110% of the total volume of the
largest tank and/or the total volume of the largest tank plus a 25-year 24-hour rainfall. Containment
volume and tank capacities are found in Appendix B.
Culverts, Gutters, or Other Drainage- 112.7(c)(1)(iii)
Drainage within the ground level of the building is engineered so that the drainage flows into an
oil/water sump located in this area of the Facility. Minor spills on the upper and lower levels of the
building would be cleaned up or flow to and be contained by the oil/water sump system.
Weirs, Booms, or Other Barriers- 112.7(c)(1)(v)
The following equipment is maintained at the Facility in the event of a release: forklifts, fire
extinguishers, barricades, shovels and brooms, two-way radios, front-end loaders, and booms.
Facility Process Ponds- 112.7(c)(1)(vi)
There are two process ponds for process water management on-Site. The process ponds are not
devoted to providing secondary containment for the oil containers.
Retention Ponds- 112.7(c)(1)(vii)
The Facility maintains five stormwater ponds for stormwater management on-Site. The stormwater
ponds are not devoted to providing secondary containment for the oil containers.
Sorbent Materials- 112.7(c)(1)(viii)
The following materials are maintained at the Facility in the event of a release: booms, floor dry,
absorbent socks, sponge particulate, absorbent pillows, plastic sheets to cover catch basins, and
soda ash and sand. The inventories are checked monthly to replenish used materials. Adequate
materials are present at the Facility and spill kits will be located in those areas where releases are
likely to occur.
Truck Unloading Area
The Facility does not maintain a tank car loading/unloading area. Railroad tankers are not utilized
to load/unload oil products at the Facility.
Oil transfers at the Facility include intermittent deliveries of diesel fuel and lube oil to the ASTs and
pickup of used oils. These deliveries do not occur on a daily basis. Tank trucks are utilized for these
GHD I Spill Prevention;Control,and Countermeasure(SPCC)Plan 1085405 1 Page 18
