Provide a corrective action statement to <br /> the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 402 CCR 66262.34(4)(2) Failed to store hazardous waste in a compatible container. <br /> OBSERVATION: The facility has hazardous waste stored in a container that is not compatible with the waste. At <br /> the west end of the facility, one 5 gallon cardboard box contained saturated oily absorbent. The cardboard box and <br /> the ground below it was saturated with the waste. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The owner or operator shall use a container made of or lined with materials which will <br /> not react with, and are otherwise compatible with,the hazardous waste to be transferred or stored, so that the ability <br /> of the container to contain the waste is not impaired. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately transfer the oily debris to a compatible container. Provide a corrective action <br /> statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 <br /> days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION:The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br /> Near the west end of the facility: <br /> -One 5 gallon cardboard box containing oily debris(full) <br /> -One 30 gallon trash can containing oily debris(full) <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste.
