DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR WASTE STEAMS
As shown on Table 1 in Appendix B,this site location generated approximately 61,604 pounds of Category B
hazardous waste in the Reporting Year, which includes waste description, applicable California Waste Codes,
total amount generated and relevant process or department where the waste was generated. This waste was
generated through three different processes at the site location. Block flow diagrams for the facility's processes
can be found in Figures 4 through 6. The following are general descriptions of each of the major waste streams
for this SB 14 Plan:
3.3.1. Barium, Chromium, 8t Silver Waste (CWC #181)
The source of this waste is the plasma cutter operation. The plasma cutter cuts sheets of metal into the desired
shape and size for the trailers. The process is performed over a downdraft table that collects the metal
particulate and vents to a dust collector. In 2018,Dragon generated approximately 14,108 pounds of inorganic
solid waste from its plasma cutter, which comprised 22.90%of the facility Category B waste category.
3.3.2. Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste Solid (CWC #181)
The source of the Non-RCRA hazardous waste solid is the paint booths. The metal drums and containers which
hold the paint are put into a bin for disposal after the paint has been used.In 2018,Dragon generated
approximately 5,000 pounds of this waste, which comprised approximately 8.12%of the facility Category B
waste inventory.
3.3.3. Used Oil/Mixed Oil (CWC #223)
The source of this waste is the compressors for the blast booths. The oil is collected in drums and stored over
spill pads until it is hauled off-site.In 2018,Dragon generated approximately 33,811 pounds of this waste, which
comprised approximately 54.88%of the facility Category B waste inventory.
3.3.4. Waste Paint Solids (CWC #352)
The source of this waste is the paint booths. The waste paint and acetone as a result of this process is collected
and then hauled off.In 2018,Dragon generated approximately 8,685 pounds of this waste, which comprised
approximately 14.10%of the facility Category B waste inventory.
Dragon Products, LLC.
