to the unloading line to minimize the potential for accidents. The truck should be
substantially level and in such a location that the delivery hoses can be connected
without straining them by stretching or excessive bending.
(4) Ensure that the truck driver locks the truck's brakes and chocks the wheels. Put up the
caution guarding in the front and back of the truck.
(5) Ensure the emergency kill switches are pointed out and explained. Test the remote kill
switch.
(6) Inspect the delivery hose and gasket prior to making connections.
(7) Allow the truck driver to use his checklist to check the equipment and conditions at the
storage tank.
(8) Remain present in visual contact holding the remote kill switch for the duration of the
delivery process to verify the driver is following their SOP.
NOTE: The following procedures are performed by the truck driver.
(9) Verify that the quick disconnect male coupling charging valves (liquid and vapor,
80MV1 and 80MV22 respectively) to the storage tank are fully closed, then slowly
remove the cap from the lines to the tank.
Note:The liquid fill and vapor return lines are equipped with Fisher Snappy Joe Valves (80VS1
and 80VS2) that when the remote is pulled will cause the valve to "snap" shut and prevent
further spills. The liquid fill line is equipped with a check valve (80NR21) to prevent backflow
to the truck).
ROSE
CONNECTION
12*Or
MGM
euuKneao WEHLUE UP
EAIER'GENGY SHUTOFF
VALVE TYPE NSSO
I I
I 1
T208T4
Rr:OTE G&F
TO WE 1.AEATVK
FIXED
PIPING
(Taken from Snappy Joe O&M Manual)
(10) Connect the Snappy Joe remote cable to the truck and manually open the valves
(80VS1 and 80VS2).
(11) Unroll the aqueous ammonia hoses and carefully inspect them for cracks or other
signs of wear that could result in hose failure.
