Tracy, CA 0-1 Glass, Inc. Maintenance
MAINTENANCE
Revision History
Rev. # Description of Change Date Revised By
0 Initial issue 9/10/2020 PSM RMP
Solutions
Purpose
To prevent or minimize the consequences of catastrophic releases of aqueous ammonia 19% or
anhydrous ammonia, it is important to ensure system equipment is maintained properly. The
purpose of a mechanical integrity program is to maintain system equipment so that a
catastrophic release of aqueous ammonia 19%or anhydrous ammonia is avoided. The emphasis
should be on preventive and predictive maintenance rather than breakdown maintenance.
This document summarizes how 0-1 Glass, Inc. complies with the mechanical integrity requirements
for the aqueous ammonia (19%) SCR process for NOx reduction and the anhydrous ammonia
neutralization process. 0-1 Glass, Inc. has established this mechanical integrity plan for all
equipment and system components that contain aqueous ammonia 19% and anhydrous
ammonia, plus those key support or utility systems and equipment which are considered critical
to the safety and reliability of the system.
References
1) 19 CCR 2755.5, California Accidental Release Prevention Program, Maintenance.
Components of the Mechanical Integrity Plan
This plan consists of six components and they are desribed as follows.
1) Ammonia Equipment and Instrumentation Documentation
The following steps were taken to identify the aqueous ammonia and anhydrous ammonia
equipment and instrumentation included in the mechanical integrity program:
1) A thorough review was conducted of the system drawings such as piping and instrument
Page 11
