Cooks Collision has a contract with Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc., a waste hauler,to transport and properly dispose of all hazardous waste. Attachment B, provides the December 11, 2014,and December 24,2014, Uniform Waste Manifests indicating that Safety-Kleen collected all bondo dust waste and paint wastes from the facility. Item No. 605: CCR 66262.390. Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardoits►taste. 1-55g drum of water based paint waste label was faded and illegible, 1-55g drum of solvent paint waste was covered in paint and illegible, 1-55g drum?of bondo deist label was missing the start accumulation date. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: • the words "Hazardous Waste" • name and address ofgenerator • hazardous properties • physical state • composition (contents) • accumulation start date Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. Since these containers have been on site longer than 180 days, immediately contact a licensed hazardous wasle hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD Class II. Response to Item No.605: Cooks Collision has improved the condition of the labels on all hazardous waste accumulation containers and placed thein in protective plastic sleeves to ensure legibility. Each waste container label at the facility states all of the following information: 1) current accumulation start date(which is the date waste is first added to the empty waste container), 2)the words "Hazardous Waste," 3) name and address of the Cooks Collision location,4)hazardous properties of the waste,4)physical state of the waste, 5) and the contents of the container. Photographs of the labels are enclosed as Attachment G. Overall Inspection Comments: Class 1 Violation:Illegal disposal of a hazardous waste. • Lab results submitted to Thuy Tran June 10, 2013 show the Bondo waste as hazardous for•Zinc and Selenium. • ECH7080 and EC700, according to SDS both have Flash point less than 140 F. • Immediately cease disposal ofAAT hazardous waste at unauthorized locations. Response to Overall Inspection Comments: Please see the response to Item No. 202. Cooks Collision does not dispose of any hazardous waste at any unauthorized locations. In its continued effort to ensure compliance, Cooks Collision conducted a detailed training for all employees on hazardous materials and hazardous waste management on January 5, 2015. This training specifically detailed the importance of proper handling and accumulation of hazardous - -- - waste-at-the--facility--until-this waste-is-removed-for-disposal by-a-licensed hazardous --- ----- - waste disposal company. 00015773.3
