Training Plan: <br /> Training for Verizon Wireless(Verizon)personnel is conducted at the time of employment and on an annual <br /> basis thereafter.Personnel are made aware of the hazardous materials at the facility and their Safety Data <br /> Sheets <br /> Training topics include,but are not limited to: <br /> - Familiarity with the characteristics and hazards of each hazardous material stored on-site. <br /> - Measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards. <br /> - Procedures for coordination with local emergency response organizations. <br /> - Personal protective equipment requirements for applicable containment activities. <br /> - Release prevention and defensive response measures for potential releases <br /> - Who and how to call for immediate assistance in the event of an accident involving hazardous <br /> materials. <br /> In accordance with California Health and Safety Code§25510 and Title 19,§2631 of the California Code of <br /> Regulations,in the event of a spill,release,or threatened release of a hazardous material,unless Verizon has <br /> a reasonable belief that the release or threatened release poses no significant present or potential hazard to <br /> human health and safety,property,or the environment,Verizon will provide an immediate,verbal report to <br /> the Unified Program Agency and California Office of Emergency Services as soon as: <br /> 1. Verizon has knowledge of the release or threatened release; <br /> 2. Notification can be provided without impeding immediate control of the release or threatened <br /> release;and <br /> 3. Notification can be provided without impeding immediate emergency medical measures. <br /> In order to ensure Verizon satisfies its reporting obligation,Verizon personnel shall immediately report any <br /> spill,release,or threatened release(regardless of size)to the Verizon Environmental Compliance Hotline as <br /> soon as they become aware of it.In the event Verizon personnel do not learn of a spill,release,or threatened <br /> release firsthand,but rather from another party,Verizon personnel shall not wait for confirmation of the <br /> details of a release to contact the Hotline. <br /> Verizon Environmental Compliance personnel familiarwith release reporting will then determine if the spill, <br /> release,or threatened release is reportable.If it is determined to be reportable,Verizon Environmental <br /> Compliance personnel shall immediately report the release or spill to the appropriate agencies. <br /> Verizon personnel will not mitigate any release of hazardous materials requiring emergency response,as <br /> defined by Title 8,§5192 of the California Code of Regulations.They are instructed to:1)report any release <br /> of hazardous materials to the Verizon Environmental Health&Safety Hotline and Network Operations <br /> Center immediately;2)exit and secure the facility,if necessary;and 3)wait for responding emergency <br /> personnel. <br /> For reportable releases,personnel shall contact the cleanup contractor Clean Harbors Environmental <br /> Services at(800)483-3718 to manage the release. <br /> Please note that Verizon historically used three separate digital training courses to satisfy the annual <br /> training requirements set forth by Health and Safety Code§25505. The content of these courses was <br /> consolidated into a single course,which,beginning in 2020,will appear on training records as"Spill <br /> Prevention and Response". <br /> verizonv <br />
