OVM CALIBRATION PROCEDURE <br /> OVMs (Organic Vapor Meter) have seven switches located just below the display. They are labeled: <br /> ON/OFF MODE/STORE RESET LIGHT +/INC -/CRSR SPKR <br /> To start the calibration, press the ON/OFF switch and wait for the motor to come on. After the motor <br /> starts running, the display will show: <br /> MAX PPM = 0000 <br /> PPM = 0000.0 <br /> Wait for about 5 minutes to let the lamp warm up and to give the OVM a chance to purge any old <br /> fumes/gasses and then press the MODE/STORE switch. The display will now read: <br /> LOG THIS VALUE? <br /> MAX PPM = 0000 <br /> Press the -/CRSR for no and the following will appear on screen: <br /> R/COMM -/PARAM <br /> +/ACCESS S/CLOCK <br /> Press the -/CRSR switch and the following will appear on screen: <br /> CONC. METER <br /> MAX HOLD <br /> Press the -/CRSR switch and the following will appear on screen: <br /> FREE SPACE = 9827 <br /> Press the -/CRSR switch and the following will appear on screen: <br /> "RESET" TO <br /> CALIBRATE <br /> Now press the RESET switch and the OVM will display: <br /> RESTORE BACKUP <br /> + = YES <br /> Press the -/INC switch and the OVM will display: <br /> ZERO GAS <br /> RESET WHEN READY <br /> If working in the field, ambient background air should be used as the zero gas; if the OVM is being <br /> calibrated inside,use zero air. Make the connection to the zero air or simply press the RESET switch. The display <br /> will now read: <br /> OVM.CAL <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
