The HASP will address known or potential health and safety hazards
that may be present at the Property, and possible precautions to avoid personal injury from the
hazards. The HASP will include a map of the Property area with a direct route to the nearest
emergency medical facility.Ceres Associates will conduct worker's Health and Safety meetings prior
to the commencement of each day's scheduled field activities.
FIELD ACTIVITIES
A total of two (2) soil borings will be advanced at the Property. Each soil boring will be extended
to a depth of approximately 15 feet beneath ground surface (bgs) using hand operated and truck-
mounted Geoprobe sampling equipment.
Ceres Associates will collect three samples from each boring at depths of approximately 5, 10 and
15 feet bgs.
Soil samples will be collected in acetate sampling tubes. The tubes will be labeled with unique
identification information and stored in a chest cooled with ice, for delivery to the state certified
analytical laboratory.
At each soil sampling interval, soil will be monitored according to a head-space method using a
Mini-Rae®photoionization detector(PID).
If groundwater is encountered above 15 feet bgs,Ceres Associates will collect one grab groundwater
sample from each boring in which groundwater is encountered.
Ceres Associates will follow chain-of-custody protocol.
Sample Locations
Soil borings will be located in the area of accumulated waste PCE at the rear of the dry cleaning
machine. This sample location is also in close proximity to waste PCE and PCE-impacted storage
drums. One sample will also be located outside the rear door of Quality Cleaners. Please refer to Site
Map enclosed as an attachment to this work plan.
LABORATORY ANALYSES
Ceres Associates proposes to analyze the soil and grab groundwater samples for the following:
13 Halogenated volatile organic compounds(HVOCs)using United States Environmental Protection
Agency Methods 8010/8020(soil)and 601/602 (groundwater).
CERES Associates 2 Work Plan CAS 19P2
Quality Cleaners,Tracy,CA May 20,1999
