ARCADIS Ms. Kathy Amaru <br /> October 19, 2010 <br /> One confirmation sample was also collected from the bottom of each excavation <br /> area. A maximum of five confirmation samples, identified as EX-SB2-N, EX-S132-S, <br /> EX-SB2-E, EX-S132-W, and EX-SB2-B, were collected from the excavation area <br /> around former borings SB-02 and SB-13, and a maximum of four confirmation <br /> samples, identified as EX-S64-N, EX-SB4-S, EX-S64-E, and EX-S64-13, were <br /> collected from the excavation area around former boring SB-04. Confirmation soil <br /> sample locations are shown on Figures 2 and 3. <br /> The confirmation soil samples were sealed, labeled, and placed in an ice-chilled <br /> cooler for delivery to Calscience Environmental Laboratories(Calscience), a <br /> California Department of Public Health-certified analytical laboratory. The <br /> confirmation soil samples were analyzed for the following: <br /> • TPH as gasoline by USEPA Method 8015B(M) <br /> • TPH as diesel by USEPA Method 8015B(M) <br /> • TPH as motor oil by USEPA Method 8015B (M) <br /> • Moisture content by ASTM Method D-2216 <br /> Backfill and Restoration <br /> In accordance with the Site Sampling and Soil Removal Work Plan (ARCADIS, <br /> 2010a) and Excavation and Sampling Work Plan(ARCADIS, 2010b), the <br /> excavations were backfilled with imported general fill material free of organic material <br /> and debris. The fill material was pre-sampled at the source (Teichert-Vernalis <br /> Quarry) and analyzed for California Assessment Manual (CAM) 17 metals (EPA <br /> Method 6010/7000), TPH as gasoline(EPA Method 8015 Modified) benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) and fuel oxygenates, methyl tertiary butyl <br /> ether(MTBE), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl <br /> ether(ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether(TAME) (EPA Method 8260B). <br /> Arsenic was detected at a concentration of 3.7 mg/kg which is above the RWQCB <br /> ESL of 1.6 mg/kg.
