The field work was performed on 14 and 15 <br /> April 2014. The field work documented in this report was executed in <br /> accordance with the approved scope of work outlined in the Soil <br /> Investigation, Xterran Lease Areas dated 7 March 2014 (Workplan), and <br /> approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD) on 27 March 2014. This report summarizes the field work <br /> performed and analytical results for samples collected at the site. The <br /> SJCEHD is the regulatory oversight agency for this project. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> McDonald Island contains a gas field in the Sacramento-San Joaquin <br /> Delta that is used by PG&E to inject and store surplus natural gas during <br /> low demand periods and withdraw the stored gas during peak load <br /> periods. Two compressor stations have been continuously operated since <br /> startup by a subcontractor,Xterran. This investigation was conducted to <br /> assess if any impacts have occurred to the shallow soil surrounding the <br /> injector unit banks at each of the compressor stations.
