Appendix A <br /> SAFE PRACTICES AND OPERATIONS CODE <br /> 1989 <br /> It is the policy of this company that everything possible will be <br /> done to protect our employees from accidents and injuries while <br /> on the job . <br /> If an empZoyee is injured , positive and prompt action must be <br /> taken to see that the employee receives adequate treatment . <br /> Po one likes to see a fellow employee injured through all <br /> accident. Therefore, all operations must be planned to prevent <br /> c.ccidents. This safety program includes a section on a typical <br /> J:o1, I:lan for your information and u se . <br /> TO carrjj out our policy the following will apply: <br /> 1 . All persons shall follow these safe practices rules, <br /> reader every possible aid to safe operations, and report <br /> all unsafe conditions or practices to the propel, <br /> authoritYj y . <br /> 2 . Foremen shall insist on employees observing and obeying <br /> every rule , regulation, and order as is necessary to the <br /> safe conduct of the work , and shall take such action as <br /> is necessary to obtain observance . <br /> 3 . All employees shall be given frequent accident preven- <br /> tion instructions, especially on hazardous jobs . <br /> 4 . Anyone known to be under the influence of intoxicating <br /> liquor shall not be allowed ort the job while in that <br /> condition. <br /> 5 . Horseplay , scuffling , and other acts which tend to have <br /> all adverse influence on the safety or well-being of the <br /> empl.o;!ees are prohibited . <br /> C . Vorl: shell be well planned and supervised to forestall <br /> injuries in the handling of heavy materials and till <br /> working together with equipment . <br /> i' No orte shal l knowingly be permitted or required to work <br /> while Itis ability or alertness is no impaired by <br /> fatigue , illness, or other causes that it migItt <br /> unnecessarily expose him or others to injury . <br /> 8 . Employees shall not enter manholes, underground vaults, <br /> cItam1,e.ra , tanks, silos, or other similar places that <br /> receive little ventilation, unless it It as been <br /> determined that the air contains no flammable or toxic <br /> gases or vapors .
