Universal Waste Regulations <br /> ■ Provides streamlined regulations for: <br /> — Lamps (fluorescent tubes, high-intensity discharge) <br /> — Batteries (Ni-Cd , lead acid battery packs) <br /> — Mercury-containing equipment (switches, <br /> thermometers) <br /> — Pesticides (obsolete or recalled pesticides) <br /> — State-specific wastes (such as used aerosol cans) <br /> ■ Automotive batteries may be managed as <br /> universal waste (or as a recycled material instead ) <br /> ■ Although they are hazardous waste, universal <br /> wastes are NOT counted towards hazardous <br /> waste generator status <br />
