Jose Family, LP APPLICANT: Cascade Energy Storage, L C <br /> 2482 Carpenter Road 100 Brickstone Square, Suite 300 <br /> Stockton, CA 95205-8089 Andover, MA 01810 <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A Site Approval application to establish an unmanned, 25 megawatt (MW) battery energy <br /> storage system (BESS) facility utilizing 2.2 acres of a 4.8-acre parcel to include 38 storage containers totaling 12,160 <br /> square-feet to house battery storage racks for lithium batteries; 1 auxiliary battery storage container; 16 <br /> inverters/transformers totaling 1,920 square-feet to convert between AC and DC and to step up the voltage; and 1 site <br /> substation totaling 5,940 square-feet.The project will connect to PG&E's transmission grid at the existing Weber substation <br /> located adjacent to the west of the site and will receive, store and discharge electricity to and from the grid. A new 60- <br /> kilovolt (kV) generation interconnection transmission line (gen-tie) on a new, approximately 70-foot-high monopole would <br /> connect the BESS to the PG&E Weber Substation on the adjacent parcel to the west. Fiber optic cables would also be <br /> installed underground to provide a telecommunications connection between the Project site and the PG&E facilities. PG&E <br /> would also reconductor approximately 1 mile of existing 60-kV power line in the city of Stockton near the Project site, <br /> replacing existing conductors and wood support poles with light-duty steel poles at a similar heights (40-feet above street <br /> level)within the existing alignment. <br /> The project will not utilize water services. The application proposes the construction of a commercial on-site wastewater <br /> disposal system for the existing care home facility, replacing the individual septic systems. Storm water will be retained on <br /> site. The project site can be accessed from Carpenter Rd. There is an existing residential care facility for a maximum of <br /> 21 residents that will remain in operation. This property is not under a Williamson Act contract. <br /> The Property is zoned AU-20 (Agriculture-Urban Reserve, 20-acre minimum) and the General Plan designation is R/L(Low <br /> Density Residential). <br /> PROJECT LOCATION: The project site is located on the south side of East Carpenter Road, 475 feet east of South Pock <br /> Road, Stockton. (APN/Address: 179-140-18/2482 East Carpenter Road, Stockton) (Supervisorial District: 1) <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: This project as described is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act <br /> (CEQA)pursuant to Section 15301 (Class 1), Section 15302(Class 2), Section 15303(Class 3), and Section 15304(Class <br /> 4).
