Jim Tjosvold, P.E.
Page 5
September 21 , 1987
While the shallow zones move southeast, the deeper E zone
moves more to the east. Both OS-lE and OS-3E would then be
downgradient from the shallower zones. Therefore the
frequency for sampling these wells should be increased to
quarterly for protection of the Gold Bond wells or for
migration in some other undefined direction.
The frequency for wells at DSW-2A, DSW-2B, Gold Bond, and City
Police wells will be determined based on comments from the
Regional Water Quality Control Board.
Comment 20 and 21
A detailed proposal for aquifer testing from CH2M Hill was
presented to the State on September 15, 1987. The State finds
the new aquifer testing proposal to be adequate. Final
approval is pending upon written submittal of the proposal .
Comment 34 , 37 , 39 and 40
Based on information gathered during the PHERA and the SRWCF
Treatability Assessment to be completed within eight weeks,
these comments are to be re-evaluated and readdressed by
McCormick and Baxter. Response to these comments are to be
provided at that time and not addressed after the feasibility
study.
Comment 53
The Dep}rtment believes that sample handling should be
minimized to prevent cross contamination. If the field
sampling team uses proper precautions, then the possibility
of contamination should be low.
JV:pr
JV13 . 087
