Response To Comments--June 9, 1988 (DHS Comments To M&B Work
Plan Regarding Continuous Coring Attached to J. Allen Letter
Item Paragraph Response
Continuous 1,2,3,4,5,6 The successful pump test results
Coring combined with the existing sub-
surface information, answers the
questions and concerns stated.
There is no need to continuously
sample boreholes. Continuous
coring would provide no signi-
ficant data for evaluating and/
or implementing remedial mea-
sures at the site and would
waste valuable funds which could
be applied to other issues.
Response to Comments--July 13, 1988 (REQCB Comments J.Allen Letter)
Comment Response
1 The information to determine the
proposed next offsite well loca-
tions and onsite delineation of
contamination will be provided
in the quarterly report, asso-
ciated technical memorandums,
and in the upcoming technical
meeting.
2 We propose to discuss the
monitoring program at the upcoming
meeting. The issue which needs
to be resolved is how much of
the budget to spend on monitor-
ing and how much of the limited
budget to spend on other in-
vestigation work versus how the
results will further progress
towards remediation.
3 We agree that the state should
timely respond to M&B' s com-
ments.
4 We agree with performing total
chromium analysis on groundwater
and that chromium detected
should be assumed to be hexa-
valent chromium.
