Box 2009 CltN JOAQUIN LOCAL
Stockton, CA 95201 HEALTH DISTRICT
Dear Dr. Williams:
The Hazardous Waste Management Branch of the Department of Health Services
has been conducting surveys for abandoned hazardous waste disposal sites
in selected counties in California. The survey of San Joaquin County has
recently been completed. Enclosed is a list of the abandoned hazardous waste
sites identified in the county, as well as a summary of each site.
The scope of this project has been restricted to abandoned sites on which
Departmental staff has found evidence that hazardous waste was deposited.
Such sites may either be on property controlled by an operating hazardous
waste generator, on property previously owned by a hazardous waste
generator which is now vacant or is used for another purpose, or on
property previously used by a hazardous waste generator for off-site disposal.
The list of sites represents the best knowledge of the Department at this
time. If additional sites are brought to our attention in the future,
they will be investigated and added to the list if warranted.
Please contact Ned Therien at telephone number (916) 324-1798 if there
are questions on the listing of abandoned hazardous waste sites identified
by this project in San Joaquin County.
Sincerely,
Thomas E.
