Results from the Fourth Quarter show several detections of Volatile
Organic Compounds in MW-5 and one trace detection of Acetone in SB-1. As described in
previous correspondence, the County believes that groundwater concerns are related to landfill
gas migration. A landfill gas control system is currently being installed and is expected to finish
in April 2001. There were no other exceedences during the Fourth Quarter Monitoring Event.
Further monitoring will determine the effectiveness of the gas control system.
This report was prepared to comply with Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 94-259.
If you have any questions please call me at(209) 468-3066.
Sincerely,
14elll
MICHAEL KALISH
Associate Engineer
MK:vn
N:\Michael\CH\GWmon\4thOOlet.wpd
Enclosure
c: Robert McClellon,Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
LA 64201
