This proposal <br />was developed after correspondence with Ms. Keeland, using Kleinfelder's current understanding <br />of the site conditions, and is a preliminary understanding of Granite Construction's desires and <br />requiremerits. Kleinfetder is committed to providing quality service to our clients, commensurate <br />with their wants, needs, and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does not meet the <br />needs of Granite Construction, or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder will consider <br />appropriate modifications, subject to the standards of care to which we adhere as professionals. <br />Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and contract tarns and <br />conditions may result in changes to the risks assumed by you, as well as adjustments to o+tr Fees_ <br />W e look forward to the opportunity to serve you. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Granite Construction Company uncovered approximately 50 yards of soil with ash <br />bottles durinir trenching onerations at the Gratlitc Tracy facility_ Mz Robert cC <br />oa�County Public Health Services, .Environmental Hearved <br />material and has requested that a workplan be submitted for the purpose of characterizing the <br />materia]. PHVEHD also requested that the material be sampled and analyzed for the following <br />analyses: <br />• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Referenced to Gasoline (TPP -G) <br />• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Referenced to Diesel (TPH-D) <br />• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Total Xylenes (BTEX) <br />• Total Threshold Limit Concentrations (TTLCs) of California Assessment Manual (CAM - <br />17) metals. <br />W. McCollum commented that Granite Constructions consultant may wish to analyze ,additional <br />analytes. Granite Construction has requested Kleinfeldcr to develop a workplan to address <br />PHSIEHDs request.
