S A N J D AR I N Environmental Health Department <br /> (L)U ;"� 1 y <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address: Date: <br /> VAN G TRUCKING INC 1 1625 LOUISE AVE, LATHROP September 28, 2020 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following was observed adjacent to 5,000 Ib. calcium carbide railcar containers: <br /> -One approximately 1-gallon container with used oil observed with heavy oil stain on soil underneath container. <br /> Note: Operator stated that container belongs to previous owner. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately clean oil stain on soil underneath one 1-gallon container with used oil. <br /> Manage the waste according to Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a statement <br /> and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department describing the storage <br /> and final disposition of the cleaned up waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed near front office cubicle: <br /> -One 1-gallon container with used oil observed with no lid. <br /> The following were located in between space 83 and 84 on the north end of the site: <br /> -One 5-gallon bucket with used oil and a used oil filter observed with no lid. <br /> -One blue 55-gallon container with used oil and debris observed with no lid. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste.
