SAN JOAQUIN RTD RETURN TO COMPLIANCE EXPLANATION SHEET <br /> Inspection date Inspection date 9/7/2016 <br /> Received report Received the final report in the mail on 10/4/2016 <br /> VIOLATION I Explanation and comments ' V D <br /> 102 The drums in question have been classified as NON RCRA HAZARDOUS WASTE <br /> I have attached our shipping manifest number 005521481SKS and 005523490SKS <br /> One drum was shipped out on 9/9/2016; two drums were shipped out 10/20/16 <br /> The third drum is not full yet and will be shipped out when full in November 2016 0 C T 2 4 2016 <br /> Drums were relabled as per the manifest. <br /> 105 Douglas Smith is the chosen emergency coordinator for RTD ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> This is now posted by the main phone in the Maintenance Department for all to see <br /> The list of fire extinguishers are throughout the building DEPARTMENT <br /> Spill containment containers are throughout the building <br /> RTD has a direct fire alarm. Fire department is automatically called <br /> 106 After moving into the new building all employees were trained on hazerdous waste by the general <br /> contractor but the training was not clearly documented. All employees who handle hazardous waste <br /> were re-trained on 10/13/2016(training records are attached) <br /> 5 Drums in question were determined to be NON RCRA HAZARDOUS WASTE. The drums were <br /> relabeled with manifest attached <br /> 109 As part of the training on 10/13/2016 those who prepare the manifests and handle the paperwork <br /> were trained on how to send the manifest copies to DTSC. <br /> After talking to DTSC,all back manifests were sent to them for processing. <br /> We will from now on clearly note on the manifests when it was sent to DTSC. <br /> 403 The 5 gallon bucket at the parts washer was replaced with a closed lid container <br /> The 5 gallon container has been labeled with a hazardous waste label and the lid has been labeled <br /> "keep the lid closed when not in use". <br /> Note that we run almost 24 hours a day and material could be added to this container at any <br /> time during normal operation. See attached photo. <br /> 406 The label on the drums have been corrected <br /> See attached photos <br /> 601 A new container with a lid has been placed under the parts washer. The oil from the old container, <br /> approximately 2 quarts,was consolidated with the remainder of the used oil <br /> in the main used oil storage tank and will be picked up within 60 days. <br /> 605 All drums have been relabeled.
