All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The handrails for the stairs is loose. Repair prior to opening the pool for use. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool.Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br /> above the top of the lowest step.Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 311 1B)Pool <br /> operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Free chlorine at 17.5 ppm.Adjust the free chlorine to 2 ppm to 10 ppm. Correct prior to opening the pool <br /> for use. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level <br /> OBSERVATIONS:pH is above 8.Adjust the pH to 7.2 to 7.8. Correct prior to opening the pool for use. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Each pool shall be provided with a system capable of continuous disinfection of the pool water.
