To that end, the County
has asked for testing of all metals in our deep-aquifer wells MW-6 and MW-7. You and I agreed
that the small amount of data available would not justify an Engineering Feasibility Study at this
time.
We also discussed the large number of compounds reported in the trip and method blanks for the
2nd Quarter VOC analyses. We agreed that these results are flawed, and should not be used on
our Reports. With this understanding, we have requested that all wells be tested again, and will
incorporate this new data into our 2nd Quarter Report.
Although we did not discuss the fate of purged sampling water, this was another item in your
letter. At all our landfills, groundwater purged from our wells is returned to the ground surface,
near the well but away from surface water drainage features. We understand that this is a
common practice at other sites where the groundwater is not toxic. We will be sure to note this
in future reports for this and our other landfills.
Your letter also requested a revision of Table 1, as originally requested February 3, 2004. We
revised this Table for the next following Quarterly Report(1 st Quarter 2004),which we sent on
April 16 2004. Please let us know if further revisions are needed, and we will incorporate them
into the upcoming report(2°d Quarter 2004).
