Revised November 4, 2020
BGG Job No. G164.01
SITE DESCRIPTION
The subject 27.01-acre site is identified as Assessor's Parcel Number(APN)058-060-460. The site
is located at. 122 West Harney Lane in Lodi, California, on the south side of Harney Lane,
appeoximately one-half mile west of Lower Sacramento Road.
The site currently contains a caretaker residence, an office, several agriculture storage buildings and
greenhouses, and a stormwater basin. The northernmost, approximately 14-acre portion of the site
was vacant and fallow at the time of our site visit. The vacant area in the northeast portion of the
property is utilized for stormwater retention and an approximately one-acre,6-feet deep stormwater
basin is located in the southwest corner of the site. The relatively flat site has surface elevations
between about 24 to 27 feet above mean sea level (MSL), according to topographic survey data
included on Sheet A 1.0,Site Plan, dated 5/20/20 by NJA Architecture.According to the San Joaquin
County Community Development Department, the subject property is zoned AG, general
agriculture.
EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM USAGE
Existing Septic System
A septic system is currently located at the site. A 1,600-gallon septic tank for the existing nursery
facility is located east of the office building and caretaker residence and will remain in use for that
purpose.
Proposed Septic System
The existing onsite septic system will remain in service for the nursery facility.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were searched for the
Site address. A record for Permit No.75334,dated 5-13-75,was obtained for the location identified
as'/4-mile west of Extension Road on the south side of Harney Lane, which appears to be the subject
site. A 1,600-gallong septic tank was constructed in May 1975. No other septic permit files were
located. A record of the SJCEHD permit obtained in 1975 is contained in Appendix B.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
The general site area primarily consists of vineyards and orchards with several ranch residences.
What appears to be a single-family residential neighborhood is located approximately one-half mile
east of the site. To estimate the septic system usage in the area,we used professional judgement to
identify potential septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the
project site. Google Earth imagery was utilized. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to
have one septic system, and sites perceived to be used for commercial or industrial purposes were
assumed to have two septic systems. Using this method, it is estimated that approximately 40 to 50
septic systems per square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
A review of septic permits on file with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
for nearby properties indicated that most septic systems in the area utilize leach lines.
BAEZ GEOTECHNICAL GROUP Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study-I Hsin Orchids Paget
