(39-AA-0017) , <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) staff have <br /> reviewed the DEIR for the California Waste Removal Systems. The <br /> proposed project involves an acreage expansion from 12 . 16 to 17.71 <br /> acres, and an increase in capacity from 650 tons per day to 2000 <br /> tons per day. Current operations of the facility involves , <br /> collection and processing of cardboard, newspaper, plastic, cans, <br /> metal, wood, rock and rubble, brush and garden waste. A composting <br /> operation is onsite. <br /> Proposed changes in the design and operation of the facility <br /> indicated in the DEIR include the following: <br /> Additional 5. 55 acre area for composting operations, container <br /> storage and truck parking <br /> Tipping floor and processing area to be enlarged <br /> New office building <br /> New maintenance shop <br /> Within the 89, 000 square foot addition to the processing area and <br /> tipping floor, additional equipment to be added include a new baler <br /> for recyclables, a new compactor, a conveyor for material sorting, <br /> a conveyor for wood processing, and a wood grinder. <br />
