SAN J D AR I N Environmental Health Department <br /> I Y <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address: Date: <br /> DIAMOND PET FOOD 250 E ROTH RD, LATHROP October 19, 2020 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following was observed in the hazardous waste storage area: <br /> -Used oil stain observed on concrete floor of hazardous waste storage area. <br /> -One 55-gallon container with product oil observed with oil accumulating on lid of container. <br /> The following was observed in the maintenance shop: <br /> -Metal fines observed accumulating on and the floor of one metal grinding machine. <br /> -Metal fines observed accumulating on and the floor of two metal saw machines. <br /> -Metal fines observed accumulating on workbench for metal clamp machine. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water,which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately, accumulating oil, oil stains and metal fines. Manage the waste according to <br /> Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation to <br /> the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department describing the storage and final disposition of the <br /> cleaned up waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(4)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed in the hazardous waste <br /> storage area: <br /> -One 55-gallon container with waste antifreeze observed with no lid for funnel and no lid to bunghole. <br /> -One 55-gallon container with used oil filters observed with non-secure lid. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste.
