St. Rt. 99 W. Frontage Rd., Stockton, CA (1.12 Acres)
Mr. Jaimes:
Per your request, Live Oak GeoEnviron mental, Inc. (Live Oak) has completed a percolation test
for the subject Site. We understand that you are planning to construct a new home on the
Site, located at 10331 North State Route 99, West Frontage Road, Lodi, California (Plate 1).
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department has requested that a percolation
test be completed prior to issuing septic permits.
A Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study was completed for the Site by Advanced Geo on March
2, 2020. Advanced Geo performed a shallow percolation test with a depth of 42 inches and
obtained a percolation rate of 83.33 minutes per inch. This is considered a failing rate per San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's definition.
Because Advanced Geo did not perform a deep percolation test, Live Oak has completed that
test, discussed in the following pages:
Soil Boring
On October 21, 2020, Live Oak excavated a deep soil boring on the Site for the purpose of
conducting a percolation test. The boring was four inches in diameter, 7.45 feet deep, and
was excavated by hand auger. The location of the boring is indicated on the attached Plate 2.
Soil Lo
The soil in the boring was observed to be clay to a depth of 3.5 feet, followed by clay with sand
to a depth of 6.0 feet, followed by sandy clay to a depth of 7.0 feet, followed by silty sand to
the full depth of the hole.
Preparation and Presaturation of Percolation Test Hole
After the shallow boring was advanced by hand auger, the test hole was completed for the
percolation test. Approximately two inches of pea gravel were placed in the bottom of the
open soil boring, followed by a 2.0-inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom.
Pea gravel was then used to backfill a few inches of the annular space.
Environmental Engineering Geology r Geophysics
